Rolleston-on-Dove Station Heritage Group (RSHG) is a volunteer organisation under the umbrella of The Rolleston Engineering and Transport Society (TREATS). The mission is to maintain the surviving railway artifacts as well as the fauna and flora.
New volunteers are always welcome to join monthly working parties convened on the first Saturday morning of every month, from 10am, weather permitting. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Keeping a high profile in the locality the group attends various events with a display. Such events this coming season will include the Scouts Carnival, Rolleston Transport Festival and the Village Fair.
To arrest the interest of the younger generation, illustrated talks are presented to local schools, usually followed-up by a visit to site. Year 2 pupils of Richard Wakefield Primary School will receive a presentation 3rd February followed by a visit to the site. We look forward to welcoming them to a trip back in time once more.
A successful April working party, the time to clear the meadows and paths of unwanted growth and sow seeds to give a great summer wildflower show.
During March two volunteers re-painted the entrance gate in a colour reminiscent of the London, Midland & Scottish Railway Co.
The next Working Party is planned for Saturday 2nd May from 10am.

The latest Winter Bulletin below gives an update of the project’s progress.
